One of the most exciting discoveries that came with our wonderful Czech researcher's work last year was the addition of at least three children to Agnes and Wenceslaus's family.
This wasn't a surprise. Vera Nowotny's book includes a translation of the original German obituary printed in the New Braunfels Zeitung, 31 May 1900, for Agnes, which claims that "of ten [children] born to them four died in the old country" (p. 3). Six known sons, plus three more verified children, plus the legendary Thekla who was said to have died on the voyage to the US, equals the ten mentioned in Agnes's obituary.
While we may have been aware of the existence of more children, to have names and birthdates for most of them makes them all the more real for us; and we can't help thinking that Agnes and Wenceslaus would be so relieved to have them finally included in our official genealogies (don't worry, Thekla--we'll find you, too!).
Here, then, is the updated list of children for Agnes and Wenceslaus. The newest discoveries are in bold.
Franz (1838-1912)
Wenzel (1840-1925)
Victoria (1843-?)
Peter (1848-1929)

Welcome, Victoria, Antonin, and Katerina, to the family!
NB: If anyone has more information about these three--specifically death dates--please let us know!
